Go-to-Market Engineer
Our client is a tech-enabled, AI-forward private equity group managing approximately $800M in assets. They firm partners with exceptional operators to build enduring businesses, combining institutional capital with hands-on operational expertise. Currently, building a GTM engineering capability to drive systematic top-line growth across their portfolio companies.
About the Role
This is not a single-company role. You will work hands-on across multiple portfolio companies as a resourceful, AI-native operator — using modern tooling and vibecoding to build systems, run outbound campaigns, and own the full cold email stack. The mandate is clear: identify what is working across lead gen and demand gen channels, cut what is not, and turn proven approaches into scalable playbooks deployable across the broader platform. You will be technical enough to architect GTM systems and run experiments — but the focus is growth outcomes, not engineering for its own sake.
What You'll Own
Work hands-on with portfolio companies to diagnose and improve top-of-funnel growth — across paid, events, outbound, organic, and other demand gen channels
Use AI tools and vibecoding to build internal applications, automations, and workflows that accelerate GTM execution and outreach at portfolio companies
Design and execute cold email infrastructure end-to-end — subdomain setup, inbox warmup, deliverability monitoring, sequence creation, A/B testing, and KPI tracking
Own CRM operations (HubSpot or equivalent) — data hygiene, pipeline workflows, views, and reporting across portfolio companies
Build and run GTM experiments, identify what drives results, and turn proven approaches into repeatable playbooks deployable across the broader portfolio
Continuously experiment with new AI tools and approaches to compress research and outreach timelines
What We're Looking For
Someone who builds things — you default to "let me prototype this" over "let me write a spec for this"
Comfortable vibecoding — using AI coding assistants to ship functional tools, scrapers, dashboards, or integrations without a traditional engineering background
Strong background in lead gen, demand gen, or GTM systems — you have built and operated growth channels, not just managed them
Strong working knowledge of HubSpot (or comparable CRM) including list management, workflows, properties, and reporting
Hands-on experience with cold email tooling (Instantly, Smartlead, Apollo, or similar) and a solid grasp of deliverability best practices — DNS records, inbox rotation, sending limits
Able to move quickly across multiple business contexts — comfortable context-switching between portfolio companies with different models, markets, and maturity levels
NYC-based or willing to be — the team operates in person
Nice to have
Familiarity with the PE, M&A advisory, or professional services space
Experience building GTM playbooks that have been replicated across multiple teams or business units
Hands-on experience with modern GTM tooling — Clay, HubSpot, outbound sequencing platforms, attribution tools
Tech Stack
GTM Systems, Outbound, HubSpot, Clay, AI Automation, Cold Email, RevOps
